Johanna Sandell is a versatile vocalist and artist with over two decades of experience in the music industry - performing live, working as a studio singer, and writing her own music. Trained at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory in Helsinki, she has moved fluidly between pop, soul, jazz, and folk, always bringing emotional depth and authenticity to her performances.
Her professional journey began as a teenager with a record deal at Universal Music, followed by national tours and collaborations with well-known Finnish artists and producers. She has competed in the Finnish Eurovision selections both as an artist and a background vocalist, and has performed in hundreds of shows – from intimate acoustic settings to high-profile international events.
After spending eight years as a full-time singer in Dubai, performing in five-star venues and creating custom music for international clients, Johanna returned to Finland with a renewed focus on her own artistic voice. She is known for her deep emotional expression, her ability to interpret lyrics across multiple languages, and her talent for making songs truly her own.
In 2025, Johanna competed in The Voice of Finland, making it all the way to the Live Shows. Her unique interpretations and heartfelt stage presence were praised by both coaches and audiences, marking an important chapter in her return as a solo artist. That same year, she had the honor of joining Superstar Band – a group featuring some of Finland’s leading musicians.
Recently, Johanna performed at the widely covered Charlie Goes To event in Helsinki, opening the program with an empowering and powerful song that set the tone for the day. Her performance made a strong impact on the audience and earned her a wave of positive feedback from both attendees and organizers.
Johanna is currently recording her debut album, combining her Nordic roots with the world-music influences gathered during her years abroad. With new music and upcoming performances ahead, she is entering an exciting new phase in her career.
